Sino-German Institute of Law

Nanjing University Sino-German Institute of Law was established in 1989. It is a research and teaching facility for comparative law study by the joint effort of Nanjing University and Göttingen University. Now it has 22 researchers and has accomplished about 30 research projects, supported by Sino-German foundations including the National Social Science Fund of China. The institute has published over 40 monographs and over 300 theses and translations at home and abroad. It also makes regular publish of the half-year periodical of the Sino-German Legal Forum and the German quarter journal of China Law. It holds international academic conferences regularly, which enjoy a relatively high reputation and long-lasting academic influence. The institute has been selected 8 consecutive times into the conversation program of nations under the rule of law conducted by the central governments of China and Germany, which is a model of high-level international cooperation between China and Germany.
